A US military aircraft has crashed on a remote island north of Australia while taking part in war games.
An Osprey military aircraft crashed on a remote island north of Australia on Sunday, injuring 23 US Marines on board, local police said, according to AFP.
Five marines have been rescued from the crash site and flown to hospital on the Australian mainland, according to Northern Territory Police Commissioner Michael Murphy, with one currently in critical condition.
