Millie Bobby Brown has recently faced online backlash after she spoke in an American accent on Jimmy Fallon show on Thursday.

In a clip she shared on Instagram, The Stranger Things star, who moved to Florida aged eight, spoke up about her engagement to Jake Bongiovi during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

However, Millie’s fans raised concerns after observing her accent change, with one said, “Where is your British accent?”

Another remarked, “Her accent is basically gone’ and ‘8AM?? She doesn’t sound British at all anymore!!”

“Can’t decide if she’s British or American’ and ‘Where is your British accent?” stated another user.

One more remarked, “She sounds so American now and ‘Why is she doing an American accent’.”

“Her accent is gone,” added a third user.

Other fan added, “For everyone saying that she doesn’t have her British accent anymore bear in mind that she is currently filming ST5 so she has been using her American accent more recently.”

Last year in October, Millie, who rose to fame with her role as Eleven in Netflix hit series, revealed she’s “ready to goodbye and get out after the fifth and final season”.

Meanwhile, Millie came on Jimmy Fallon show to promote her new Netflix movie, Damsel, which will debut on the streaming service on March 8.
