An official in charge of military policy and strategic planning at the so-called Israeli National Security Council has stepped down, amid a recent wave of resignations by the regime’s high-ranking officers which has fueled speculations about the potential for a domino effect within various institutions.

According to the Israeli public broadcaster KAN, Yoram Hamo resigned due to frustrations over the failure to reach political decisions regarding future actions in the Gaza Strip.

The so-called Israeli National Security Council alleged that Hamo had expressed his intention to step down several months ago, citing “personal reasons unrelated to public matters.”

Hamo was reportedly in charge of overseeing the “day after plan” for the Gaza Strip after Israel completed its military operation against Hamas, which has ruled the territory since 2007.

KAN said a vision laid out for post-war Gaza has recently been deliberated within the Security Council will imminently be presented to the Security Cabinet.

The broadcaster claimed civilian administration in the Gaza Strip for a period ranging from six months to a year.

It claimed that essential services will be delivered to the population through private Arab enterprises, and eventually the control of the coastal sliver will transition to local entities not hostile to Israel.

The Israeli regime says any future government in the besieged territory should not be led by Hamas.

In response, the resistance movement has underlined that it will continue to be the key player in the politics and the administration of the Gaza Strip which has been under brutal aggression by the Israeli regime for more than seven months.

Hamo’s resignation comes as Moshik Aviv, the head of Israel’s Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office, has informed Benjamin Netanyahu of his intention to walk out.

Aviv, who was appointed just eight months ago, will wait for a successor to be appointed before stepping down.

Galit Distel Atbaryan, the Public Diplomacy Minister, resigned from her position five days after the large-scale and surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7.

Topaz Luk, social media adviser to Netanyahu, director general of the Prime Minister’s Office Yossi Shelley, and Netanyahu’s chief of staff Tzachi Braverman are also expected to leave the office shortly.

All these started with the resignation of the head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate, Aman, Major General Aharon Haliva, on April 22.
