The Gaza Ministry of Health has warned that a “real disaster” is sweeping hospitals, oxygen stations, medicine refrigerators, and nurseries in all health facilities still partially operational in the besieged Palestinian territory.

The ministry said in a Tuesday statement that the Israeli regime has filled roads across the enclave with “thieves and bandits to steal” aid convoys.

“The last shipment of fuel was stolen yesterday; it was on its way to hospitals through international organizations.”

It said there is no fuel stock remaining in hospitals now.

“We reiterate our appeal to all concerned, international, and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to provide fuel and secure it to operate generators in hospitals and health centers in the Gaza Strip.”

A report by the Gaza media office said in late December that Tel Aviv provides full support for the theft of humanitarian aid and kills security personnel to starve the people of the Gaza Strip.

Officials have repeatedly warned that healthcare in Gaza has been pushed to the brink of collapse under relentless attacks by Israeli forces on hospitals and health facilities, including its barbaric destruction of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the battered north of Gaza on December 28, 2024.

The regime’s forces raided the hospital, forcibly removed patients and staff, and kidnapped the director of the hospital Hussam Abu Safia along with many medical staff before setting the building on fire.

They also took another key hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, out of service in the north on Saturday. The hospital, which was home to displaced Palestinians in the northern town of Beit Lahiya, is so severely damaged that it may never open again.

Health officials say they are “in shock and horrified at the scenes left by Israeli forces at the Indonesian Hospital.”

A separate evacuation order has also been issued to the al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia.

According to rights groups, the medical and humanitarian catastrophe inflicted by Israel on the besieged area are “clear signs of ethnic cleansing.”

In the north, “we are witnessing clear signs of ethnic cleansing as Palestinian life is being wiped off the area,” Doctors Without Borders said in a recent statement.
