Israeli forces have ramped up their aggression against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, violently raiding various neighborhoods, causing widespread destruction of infrastructure as well as forced displacement of hundreds of families in the area.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Wednesday that the Israeli military continued its ongoing onslaught on the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camp for the 10th consecutive day and on the city of Jenin and its camp for the 16th day.
“Tulkarm camp is going through difficult times with the continued siege imposed by the occupation forces on it, and what has occurred since the first day of the aggression is complete destruction of the infrastructure and public and private property, which were subjected to bulldozing, bombing and burning,” the report said.
The news agency stressed that the occupation forces pushed more of their vehicles into the refugee camp in Tulkarm and deployed infantry patrols inside all its neighborhoods and surroundings.
“The camp has become empty of its residents, and only a few families remain, living without the minimum necessities of life, with a severe shortage of food, water, medicine and baby milk, in light of the water, electricity and communications outages,” the report said.
“The occupation forces are spreading terror among the residents to force them to leave, by blowing up homes and shops.”
Pointing to the city of Jenin, the news agency said that besides house bombings and a siege, the regime had killed at least 25 Palestinians in the past 16 days in its aggression which had left dozens injured and resulted in detentions, as well as forced displacement and destruction of infrastructure.
The occupation forces continue to besiege Jenin Governmental Hospital, after bulldozing its entrance and the main street leading to the medical facility, WAFA said.
The regime forces also stormed several locations across the occupied West Bank over recent hours, including the Qalandiya refugee camp, the town of Hizma, the center of Ramallah city and the new Askar refugee camp in the east of Nablus.
Meanwhile, Palestinian media reports said the Israeli occupation forces stormed the al-Fawar camp, south of al-Khalil, on Tuesday evening amid heavy gunfire and sound bombs.
The forces arrested a French activist, named in reports as Camellia, in the Tel Rumeida area in central al-Khalil, where she was taken to a military camp established in the area.
The escalated aggression against the occupied West Bank comes against the backdrop of a 15-month barbaric onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip.
The regime’s strikes on the blockaded Palestinian territory left more than 61,000 people dead, mostly women and children, before a ceasefire deal came into effect on January 19.
