Israeli airstrikes on Deir al-Balah in central Gaza killed at least nine people, including six brothers from a single family, on Sunday.
The brothers, from the Abu Mahadi family, were killed in Deir al-Balah when Israeli warplanes fired multiple missiles at a civilian car.
The attack also killed a friend of the brothers.
“The car was carrying them toward life, but the Israeli missile chose them for death,” Palestinian human rights advocate Ramy Abdu wrote in a message on X.
Six brothers were killed all at once:
Ahmad, Mahmoud, Mohammad, Mustafa, Zaki, and Abdullah Abu Mahadi — along with their friend, Abdullah Al-Habbash, the seventh…Brothers in blood, and in departure.

The attack followed earlier raids targeting the western areas of both Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis.
In a separate attack on the coastal Al-Mawasi area before dawn, Israeli forces hit a tent sheltering displaced people and an inhabited home, leading to more casualties.
According to medics, a woman was killed by an Israeli drone in Jabalia al-Balad, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces also killed Mohammed al-Darbashi, director of the local police station, in an attack on his house in western Khan Yunis.
Israel’s military threatened Saturday that its forces would soon intensify the offensives and expand it “to other areas throughout most of Gaza.”
The regime’s minister of military affairs, Israel Katz, threatened earlier that the military was leaving Gaza “smaller” and “more isolated” to pressure Hamas into releasing the captives it is still holding.
Hamas, however, warned on Saturday that the offensive not only “kills defenseless civilians but also makes the fate of the occupation’s prisoners (captives) uncertain.”
