The Israeli regime’s forces have killed a 12-year-old Palestinian boy and injured a young man during two raids on the occupied West Bank.

According to eyewitnesses, Israeli forces raided West Bank towns on Wednesday, provoking clashes with residents, and used live ammunition and tear gas canisters against civilians.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that during the raids,  Israeli forces shot a boy in the abdomen, head, and thigh in the town of Al-Yamoun.

The Ministry of Health in the West Bank identified the boy as Mahmoud Mithqal Ali Abu Al Haija.

Israeli forces also critically wounded a young Palestinian after storming the eastern part of Nablus city, in the northern West Bank.

They stormed the popular housing “Masaken al-Sha’abi” area and opened fire with live ammunition, and used tear gas canisters. A young Palestinian man was critically injured.

The living conditions for Palestinians in the West Bank have increasingly deteriorated since the Israeli regime started its genocidal war in Gaza in 2023.

About 16 Palestinian children have been killed in 2025 in the West Bank, even though “[They] pose no real threat to the soldiers,” according to the Defense for Children International.

“The failure to hold Israeli soldiers accountable for their violations against Palestinians has effectively given them the green light to continue their actions,” said Ayed Abu Eqtaish, the Accountability Program Director of the Defense for Children International.

In 2024, 93 children were killed by Israeli troops in the West Bank. Human rights workers fear the numbers will continue to increase as the Israeli regime brings Gaza techniques to the West Bank, including forcing tens of thousands of people from their homes, destroying civilian buildings and infrastructure, and further loosening the “rules of engagement” against Palestinian citizens.

According to the Ministry of Health in the West Bank, since the start of the Gaza war, more than 956 Palestinians have been killed, and over 7,000 have been injured in the West Bank.
