Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticized the European Union for its failure to take action to halt Israel’s campaign of genocide in Gaza and the regime’s brutal war on Lebanon.
In a Wednesday phone conversation with his Finnish counterpart Elina Valtonen, Araghchi lamented that certain European countries have adopted a contradictory and dual approach regarding the crimes of Israel.
The Iranian minister said the root of the crisis in the region lies in the warmongering and genocide perpetrated by the Zionist regime.
“It’s regrettable that despite the heinous crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people and aggression against Lebanon, no significant action has been taken by the European Union to address the violations and crimes committed by Israel,” he said, according to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
Valtonen expressed her concern over the humanitarian disasters in the region. “I hope peace and stability return to the region as soon as possible.”
She emphasized that stopping violence requires dialogue and consultations among all parties involved.
The two ministers underscored the necessity of discussions aimed at expanding bilateral relations and strengthening consular cooperation.
