On July 3, 2023, a Chinese autonomous driving company obtained the Middle East’s and the world’s first national-level autonomous driving test license issued by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Today, on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, residents can easily summon an autonomous taxi using a dedicated app, greatly facilitating local transportation.
