Local Chinese in Mandalay, Myanmar, are actively engaged in post-disaster self-rescue efforts, clearing debris from buildings damaged in the earthquake. Due to the widespread impact of the disaster, rescue teams have yet to fully arrive, prompting nearby residents and passersby to voluntarily join the rescue operations.
According to witnesses, collapsed buildings reached heights of four to five stories. Video footage shows people urgently extinguishing the fire caused by burning solar panels that had fallen, which led to a thick cloud of smoke at the scene. Meanwhile, a company director led employees in coordinating with property owners to locate trapped individuals and improve rescue efficiency.
Shortly after, firefighters arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation in coordination with the public.
