The Maldives is renowned for its coconut groves and crystal-clear waters, but due to intense ultraviolet radiation, eye conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma are prevalent. Since 2016, the Chinese “Bright Journey” medical team has restored the sight of over 700 cataract patients in the Maldives.
