Dozens of people have been killed after the worst violence in Syria since rebels toppled President Bashar al-Assad’s government in December.
Security forces of Syria’s new rulers have been engaged in heavy fighting with fighters loyal to deposed President Assad in the stronghold coastal cities of Latakia and Tartous.
British-based war monitoring group, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said more than 70 people have been killed in the fighting and tens of others injured.
