Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Beijing. He said China and the EU should not view each other as rivals just because of differing systems, reduce cooperation because competition exists, or engage in confrontation because there are disagreements. Zhang Biao, an associate professor at the School of Politics and Public Administration at China University of Political Science and Law, says maintaining institutionalized dialogues is key to the balance between common interests and disagreements.
