Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be chairing a high-level meeting of the UN Security Council in New York focusing on multilateralism and improving global governance. Last week, Wang Yi wrapped up his European tour, delivering a speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he emphasized China’s role as a constructive force in a changing world. What challenges are multipolarity and multilateralism facing, especially in light of the Trump Administration recent controversial moves? In this edition of The Hub, Wang Guan talks to Rong Ying, senior research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies and chair professor at Sichuan University, and Josef Mahoney, professor of politics and international relations at East China Normal University, to discuss how security, trade tensions and transatlantic rifts took center stage in Munich.
