The Jiangnan area of China spans the lands immediately to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It’s home to tens of thousands of historical buildings that are over a hundred years old, including traditional residential homes. Today, many locals continue to live in historical neighborhoods, but have long faced challenges. Local governments have introduced renovation projects in recent years, preserving tradition while improving quality of life.
