Over 3,000 precious cultural relics have been unearthed from the Wuwangdun Tomb in east China’s Anhui Province. It is the largest and most structurally complex tomb from the ancient Chu State, dating back over 2,200 years. Lacquered woodware featuring black and red paint comprises a significant portion of the unearthed relics so far. The tomb has a water-filled interior, buried deep and sealed with green paste mud, which created a low-oxygen environment that preserved the lacquerware well.
