US Influencer Takes Baby Wombat From Mother | 10 News First

A US hunting influencer has sparked a storm of controversy online after posting vision of herself capturing a wild baby wombat, temporarily removing it from its mother.
Sam Jones, who posts online as samstrays and promotes herself as a “wildlife biologist and environmental scientist,” shared the footage in a since-deleted Instagram reel.
The vision shows Jones catching the juvenile wombat on the side of an unidentified road, while an Australian man laughs as he films the scene.
Jones deleted the reel following reported backlash, however the vision was preserved and shared by other users on line.
Jones’ online feed is largely populated by images of her posing with animal carcasses she claims to have hunted. At the time of writing, it was not confirmed where or when the wombat incident occurred.
