Architecture is history set in stone, a living testament to the culture, spirit, and creativity of civilizations across time. It’s also a powerful expression of the soul of a people, reflecting values that have endured for millennia. Among China’s many golden eras, the Tang Dynasty (618-907) stands out for its breathtaking cultural and architectural achievements, many of which still inspire awe today.
CGTN now presents the latest multimedia immersive and interactive virtual exhibition of the CGTN Art Series, “#TangArchitecture: Building Timeless Glory.” This season invites global viewers to explore the timeless beauty and innovation of Tang-style architecture and experience the essence of traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
Our special program on this virtual exhibition features expert interviews, stunning animations, and XR displays that make the beauty of Tang architecture feel vivid and tangible. It brings the architectural wonders of the Tang Dynasty to life, blending technology and art for an immersive experience. Wang Yongxian, affectionately known as “Dougong Grandpa,” the former director of ancient architecture management of Shanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration; Geng Shuo, associate professor of the school of humanities at the Central Academy of Fine Arts; Martijn de Geus, a Dutch architect and associate professor at Tsinghua University; and CGTN’s Yang Di are going to lead our viewers into a world of elegance and innovation to experience the lasting charm of Tang Dynasty construction.
