China’s visa waiver policy has sparked a wave of international visitors eager to explore what the country has to offer, from traditional culture and historic landmarks to vibrant futuristic cities, as exemplified by the recent online buzzword “city bù city” that has taken the Chinese internet by storm. What explains this big bounce in China inbound tourism? What China experience are foreign visitors looking for?
