Ahead of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s scheduled State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22, students in the national capital held a protest caravan on July 18. The students condemned the Marcos administration’s military agreement with the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. military, which involves a rotational patrol in the disputed South China Sea.
